Josie Maran Argan Oil Products Review

Hi Everyone, today’s post is a review on Josie Maran Argan Oil and infused products. Her products are all natural and cruelty free. During colder weather I usually tend to use oils as my face moisturiser. I have been using the original Argan Oil for her line for almost 2 winters now. You can get so many uses of it and it’s natural. Since these are little expensive , When I saw these on Hautelook.com, I know I have to stock up. You can also get them from Sephora or josiemaran.com or sometimes on qvc.com.

I want to try other products from her line and here are some of the items that I picked.

Argan Oil.

It works wonders on my skin and hair. I use this as a leave in conditioner for hair and it absorbs very quickly and does not feel greasy at all. Same with the skin. Even if I used as a day time moisturizer ,I feel like it also works as a primer.
Recently I saw different versions of Argan Oil from her. They are Moroccan Argan body oil. So I picked two of them. Pink is the called revive, green is balance and blue is calming. I have seen only 3 of them, as the name says they are used for different purposes.They orginally retail at about $30 on hautelook.com I got for $19.

Argan Oil whipped body butter.

They come in different scents like Vanilla Apricot, Sweet Citrus, Bloom, which is rose scented. But the scent is not over powering and I feel like eating it, it’s very light weight like whipped cream and very good for winter. It’s costs around $35-$48 for 8-13.5 oz tub. This is kind of luxury product for the prize. I got for about $19.

Argan Oil Lip Treatment Trio.

I was sold on the packaging, how cute are they. Of all the products these are my favorite.Comes in three shades; Rosey (deep rose pink with pomegranate scent), Heaven (glittering sheer peach with tangerine scent), and Kiss Me (light pink with lime scent).
They do not have any taste or smell and very tiny bit of tint to them. It’s like applying oil. Some may not like it but I love it a lot. I am not sure if they are available individually, but the trio costs around $40.It is avaavailable on their website for $19, and it’s in their goodbye list. I have already grabbed a backup for it.

Argan Color Stick.

I saw them in 5 different shades in nude, pinks and reds. I got 2 of them, called Passion, reddish brown color and Happy a pinkish nude color.
They leave a nice glow on the skin. But I feel like they seem to make skin look oily by end of day. So, I apply little bit of powder blush on top of it and the color stays all day long. They costs around $18, but you can get them on sale for $10.Here are the swatches.

Simple Crochet Idea to Accesorise Plain Shirt

I got couple of  Plain V-Neck tees from NewYork and Company for around $5.00 , but they have very deep V-Neck. I wanted to give some life to this plain tee and also shorten the depth of the V-neck. I started with a Purple and I will have more in coming posts. I had some Purple color yarn left over from some of my other projects. So I have decided to Crochet something for the tee. 

Things you need : Plain tee, some yarn and crochet hook, a needle and thread for stitching the crochet piece to the tee,  off course little patience and time.

Step-1  : Select your tee and yarn, either you can do a contrast colors or use same yarn color as the tee, like I did. Here is my plain tee

Step-2 : This is the important part where you crochet. This is how mine looks.

For this Measure the length of the tee color  and do a chain stitch. Then double crochet into each chain for one row. Continue with another row of double crochet till you reach your desired width of the piece. The width of the piece depends on the length of the neckline you want to cover. At the end I made some scallop kind design, this is optional. If you wish to do this, then chain 5 stitches and leave 5 chain stitches  and double crochet into sixth stitch. I am not expert in crocheting , but I just want to give an  idea on how to accessorize any tops dresses with crochet.

Step -3: Once you get your finished decorative piece, take a needle and thread and you have to hand stitch it to the tee. Here is how it looks,

 

You can decorate it further with beads / crystals in the middle. But I want it simple so that I can pair it with cardigan to work, with a simple dainty necklace.

October Favorites

Hi all, it’s again time for my another favorites for the month of October

The most used this month is thebalm Nude rude palette.It is such a versatile and daily neutral palette. And I am pairing it with a nice blue eyeliner over the black liner on the upper lid. Some of my favorite blue eyeliner are Chella eyeliner pen in indigo blue, this is a nice blue appropriate for work. It’s very expensive. I got this in one my birch/ Ipsy box. If not I would have not purchased this at all. Next one is Urbandecay 24/7 Glide on eye pencil in Ultraviolet, this has some Glitter. I like the color, but not the shimmery part I used it couple times when I am out for dinner or something like that. and the last one is the Jordana easyliner in denim blue. This is my most favorite of all three. Jordana is nice and cheap alternative compared to three and is in pencil form so you have the control and super creamy. You have to roll up little bit though, else it breaks easily. Thats the con when some thing is creamy.

Next favorite is the Tarte Amazonian clay blush in Honored. When I have so much going on the eyes I used a very lite blush, just enough so that my face is not so flat.I like Tarte blushes, I am in the hunt to collect all of them.

The other favorites are Physicians formula healthy wear foundation in light to natural, Hardcandy glamoflauge concealer and ELF cream eyeliner in black. I think I have already talked about these in my previous favorites. Still trying to use them up.

Tarte pure maracuja oil, as winter approaches I am more into oil moisturizers, mostly either this oil or Argan oil. I am trying to use up the sample I got in a kit. This is a very light and very good night time moisturizer, but bit expensive for a small bottle. So, I ordered Jose maran argan oil products out of hautelook. A haul is coming up on that.
Last is the Vaseline Original one, I cannot live without it in fall and winter. Not only as a lip balm but as all over face moisturizer in days skin is super dry. To my cuticles and works really well, affordable and my most trusted moisturizer.

DIY Hanging Jewelry Organizer

Hello Everyone, its time again for a simple DIY for this week.
Today i have a tutorial for an hanging Jewelry organizer. There are so many variations of Jewelry organizers in Market, especially the Hanging once. They retail around $20 usually,atleast I know of. So I thought of doing one myself and here is the tutorial of my version. It might cost you around $3-$5.

Things you need,

Any kind of material, I used the hand towels from Dollar Store
Some clear paper, I used Zip lock bags and cut them as I needed.
Glue and any decorative Paper.
Needle and Thread, If you have a sewing Machine that works great.

Only two simple steps, cut the ziploc’s in the size you desire and stitch them to the cloth. First I stitched both towels together and then stitched the transparent sheets over it. One good thing of using cloth, it keeps the jewelry from tarnishing. You can also do it both sides based on how you hang it . I still have to do other side of it.This is how it looks one side done.

If you stitched with a sewing machine, you can do double rows and leave it here. Or stitch over with a contrasting cloth and make a nice boarders . Or you can cover stitches like me with a decorative paper.

Finally i hanged it with a clip hanger, so that i can hang it in my closet and occupies very little space. Here is my finished product.

Have fun making it as much as I did. This saves a lot of space and keeps all jewelry nice and organized.

Target Beauty Box Fall 2014 Review

Hi Everyone… I wanted to do my Fall/Winter Favorite Lip Liners and Gloss, but then I saw my first Target Beauty Box for Fall 2014. Its still available for purchase, so I thought this might be good time to put it there.

Its still available on Target website(Click Here)for purchase. Its $7 and free Shipping. I like this beauty box, than subscription services I tried in the past. Its cheap and I know what I get. No surprises and disappointments. 

Here is what I see in the box and my thoughts.
First thing I see are the coupons 20% off + free shipping+ complimentary gift from dermstore.com and $3 Off of any $15 Purchase from Target.

Next are the Hair products, This is the main reason I bought the box. Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo and L’Oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray. These are very generous sizes and I am really glad that I was able to try. I am definitely going to buy the full size.

The other products I liked are the NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk Lait and L’Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lipstick in Blushing Harmony. The lipstick is very different it has the lipstick consistency but like a gloss.

And finally something weird, they are Laneige BB Cushion. They are like these sponge dipped in foundation/ BB cream. Sorry I did not understand the concept of them.So I do not want to talk about them.

I really liked this box and I am really looking forward for the next one.

DIY Monday – Instant Oatmeal Cookies

Happy Monday everyone… I have been gone for a while and now that I got some time I want to keep up with my blog.  I had so many pictures taken for all the DIY’s I have done. So, I have decided to make every Monday as a  DIY Monday and every Thursday will be posts related to Beauty/ Fashion Etc…

Since this is my DIY Monday, I want to do a sweet and simple DIY, actually recipe. Its Instant Oatmeal Cookies. Who will not be bored eating oatmeal daily, this is a yummy and delicious way to eat the same oatmeal. Lets get started.

Ingredients:
6 packets of your favorite instant Oatmeal makes around 12 medium sized cookies 1/4 cup Butter( I used its not butter light)
1/4 brown sugar /sugar, you can totally skip as the instant Oatmeal already has sugar.
2 whole eggs
1/2 tsp Vanilla extract
2 tsp milk
1/2 all purpose flour
1/4 tsp baking powder
A pinch of salt
This is optional, any nuts, dates, apricots,figs finely chopped.
Procedure:
1) Whisk together butter, sugar, eggs, Vanilla extract, Milk. Just mix for 2 minutes
2) Then in a separate bowl, mix all the dry ingredients.
3) Mix the dry stuff in the wet and just mix gently.This can be very sticky and goopy.
4) Make some medium size balls and press them on a greezed baking plate.
5) Bake at 350° preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes and your boring oatmeal to the cookies for on the go or as some munching snack.
Some tips that I learned:
-Do not whisk too much, oats become more goopy. 
-If your dough is not thick enough to make balls , do not worry add some more oats.
– If your dough is sticky to press them , just wet your hands little bit.
– Do not over do more them 10 mins , they might become dry.

My Fall and Winter Lipstick Favs

Hello Ladies ….. Hope everyone is having a good week. 

As promised and little late this is about my favorite Fall/Winter Lipsticks, I have been obsessing for this fall and winter. This year I have been more towards the nude brown kind and purple. Quick pic of my lipsticks and some swatches. Everything is drugstore, except one M.A.C. I think drugstore lipsticks works great compared to any high-end brands, also comes in variety of colors. My Favorite are the L’oreal Infallible Lipsticks.

We will start with the nudes/BRowns . First one is the darkest brown that I own. Its L’Oreal Infallible Java Jolt #846, I think I can never wear this color except in Fall. These lipsticks has the best staying power. Next one is the M.A.C Luster Viva Glam V this is the nudest nude I own and it washes me out a little so I top it with a pink lip gloss. But when I have a nice smoky eye nothing complements than a nude lipstick. 

Next are my purples, which I have raved about in my September Favorite Post (link here). These are my this years favorite lipsticks. I think I can even take them into spring.ahh..They are Covergirl Embrace etrinte(left) and Divine Divine(right)

Then to darkest burgundy lipsticks. First one is the Maybelline #425 Plum Paradise. This is kind of all year color for me. When I am not sure ,this is my go to color. Next is the WnW Dark Wine #522A , its a matte burgundy color. I wear this mostly during Winter and goes with all sweaters I have.

I do not want to drag this post with all Lip Liner and Gloss. So I will have a separate post. Look up for that..

My September Obsessions

 Hi Everyone.. Happy October and Happy Fall to everyone. I am so excited finally fall is here making my skin acne free. As I already mentioned this is the only time my skin is very good with no acne and glowy skin. This month I had very few beauty products that I am obsessed.  

As Usual ELF BB Cream and HD Lifting Concealer. Hands down these are the best combination for a good coverage. For the face I have been using the Balm Cosmetics bronzer and highlighter. I got these on Overstock.com , when they had a sale. If you do not follow this site (http://nouveaucheap.blogspot.com) you have to follow. She posts about the ultimate beauty sales.  

 

These are the beautiful powders I have ever used. The highlighter is so gorgeous and gives nice shine without being like a disco ball. Also stays all day. The bronzer is so light and its not powdery like others. By just using these products, I want to get more of their products. These are expensive side so have to wait for some sale on these babies.

Oh I have to talk about these brushes. These are a dupe for the sigma Precision Brushes. I got these on Aliexpress, If you wish to purchase, here is the direct link to it. Can you believe these are only $3.99, you have to be aware that, the order takes about a month or so, because they ship from China . I have washed them once now and I did not see any fallout from it. 

Coming to the lips, these are my most used fall/winter lipsticks. I got these last year and cannot get enough use of it. Covergirl Embrace etrinte(top) and Divine Divine(low). I will have a most used fall/Winter lipsticks post, that’s coming up.

Last but not least is my baby Coastalscents To Go Palette Beijing. My all time favorite of all the palettes. These are buttery soft and stay on all day and blends gorgeously. They are only $9.99 and I think they have 6 or 8 palettes, but currently I see only 2 of them on their website. I have my eye on the Paris palette.  I guess Its time for another coastal scents order.

DIY One-Step Bright Concealer

For today’s DIY I have a Simple Bright Concealer. Well I sit in front of computer for atleast eight hours at work. Usually, to make under eye brighter I use a Primer, Concealer, a brighter and powder to set it. So when I do not have time in the morning to do all the steps for just my under-eye and I do not have time for any touch up . Then I started mixing them on the back of my hand for few days. And finally , I thought why don’t I mix them up and put it in a jar. This actually really helped me to save time and gave me same effect as I did them one after other. A side note, This is some thing that helps me achieve a brighter under eye and that does not crease.

What I Used for my Concealer: 

1. Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer / any BB Cream

           2. M.A.C. Mineralize Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle. Just a little bit scrapped.

3. Smashbox Photo Finish an Oil Free Formula.

Then Mix them together and store it in any empty jar. I do this every month and it works beautifully for me and do not crease at least for 6-8 hours.You can make this to suite to your own purpose. Here are some swatches.

Jordana Blush and Liners Review

 In this post I would like to review two of Jordana Blush and some Eye and Lip Liners. I got these from Cherryculture.com .  They are currently having a 40% off sale. I thought it would be right time to review these. I got each blush for less than $2.00-$3.00 and Liners for about $1.50 or $2.00.I love this site for some great products. I go to them mostly for NYX and this is the first time I brought Jordana products. This is the second time I ordered with them and they pack their orders so carefully and love that about them.

 Coming to the good stuff now. To be frank I feel they are similar to NYX . Blushes are so soft and good pigmentation, with a variety of colors. Since this is first time ,I grabbed only 2 colors in pink and coral. 

38 Coral Sandy Beach and 18 Touch of Pink

 

  The pencil with silver cap is the Lip Liner and gold cap are the Eyeliner. These are guys the buttery soft lip liners and mechanical, no need to sharp.

EyeLiners – Eggplant , BrownSuede and DenimBlue , LipLiner – TerraKiss

 

  They are super pigmented. Look at those swatches and I am not kidding , they are just one strike. But I just feel like the lip liner is little drier formula , but on the good side it stays put for longer. You can do a matte lip with these, which is in so trend right now. I just top it with a Lipgloss sometimes and its good and my lips are happy. I cannot talk enough about eyeliners, they are awesome for my watery eyes and oily lids, hahahaha….

 I would definitely go for more colors of these, when they have sale again.
